Red Bull F1 in Las Vegas

For Nussli of Switzerland, Martin managed and supervised the prep and setup of the Red Bull Energy Station in Turn 3 at the first Las VegasGrand Prix Formula One race. Wasserman/The Team managed the event that was an intricate project with lots of moving parts; Martin consulted in all organizational planning, permits, work visas, on-site management and local authorities.

When you start with nothing but a field of dirt, lay asphalt then a racing road, and build a temporary structure into a high-end hospitality suite, plenty of demands occur. This included a video tower, catering, sanitary infrastructure, fire safety, and many more layers and eventually raising the Austria imported ‘Holzhaus’. Well, Chief Tom Ueberall of Red Bull was happy… and so where all the fancy guests.

BMW at the IAA-Mobility Motor Show

For BMW's press conference at the IAA Motorshow in Munich, we produced a segment presenting BMS's new 'E-Mobility Strategy'.

Filmed in San Francisco at BMW's Silicon Valley location for Germany's Elastique agency with producer Andrea S., we recruited our LA friend DP Rene J. to realize the storyboard. Despite a waterfront shrouded in fog and very tight filming window on location, we created sharp footage and delivered on-time to a happy client... Onward!

The Anchor Music Awards with LIVE Streams

For Hamburg's 'Anchor Award' & Reeperbahn Festival, an emerging talent show, we produced video segments and managed the entire LIVE stream production between New York and Hamburg over several days from a rooftop studio. Covid travel restrictions prohibited the US jury, producer Tony Visconti, singer Brody Dalle of The Distillers and engineer Darcy Proper from traveling to Germany so we streamed their participation live into the Hamburg show. See a teaser here:

A NYC penthouse in Soho with outdoor roof top provided the skyline backdrop for the show. Here's a link to the awards show:

'Satan's Smoke' for ORF Public Television

Broadcast on Austrian Public TV ORF this is a documentary about Pope Francis and his opponents in the US Catholic Church. Martin produced in New York for director Christian Rathner of ORF TV.

A fragrance launch: 'YSL Men's Y'

Brooklyn is now also an event destination and for YSL Beaute and its international launch of their men's fragrance: 'Y', we dressed up a square space for a hip press and influencer affair:

When our friends of agency shortcut from Paris suggested Greenpoint we were excited to show in the borough. With a perfect location vibe that amplified the fragrance's visual attitude this show drove the message home and wowed the international guests.

LUMAS Pop-up store

Lumas of Berlin a client and photo gallery firm with a worldwide presence, wanted a pop-up store installed in Manhattan's trendy Meatpacking District. With the support of our fabricator & scene shop we converted the white box store front into a presentable gallery. While this idea was meant to be temporary it lasted for three years!

Swiss hockey player coming to America

Behind The Scenes shoot with Nico Hischier, a first draft ice hockey player for the New Jersey Devils. A cover shoot for 'Schweizer Illustrierte', Martin filmed and produced. See the full story by Christian Buerge here... , photo shoot by our dear friend Peter Lueders.

The 5K Road Races at International Film Festivals

Our 5K Charity Run circuit  at film festivals worldwide is continuing at international stops: Berlin again, Cannes, New York, Toronto, and finally Los Angeles again during AFM. Titled the Freeway-Pryor Cashman 5K Run produced by PPP these races bring film executives and local runners together to raise funds for a good cause. In time this event will get on the calendar at more festivals worldwide and perhaps with a little luck bring some famous runners as well.

Saint-Gobain's World Tour Stop in Philadelphia

Saint-Gobain an Industrial French Glassmaker celebrated its 350th Anniversary with a World Tour exhibit and stop in Philadelphia... and we were chosen to manage the entire production and site. A big production with lots of items, this was no small ticket. Conceived by Paris agency FC2 and built in Czech by Nussli this event was well received by 100k plus visitors and a very happy Saint-Gobain USA team.

Heidi in 'Wonderland' for Douglas Perfumeries

Once Heidi Klum recorded a holiday song for Douglas Parfumeries in LA for their Christmas Campaign. Six month pregnant but still hard working Heidi practiced a little tune with then husband Seal as vocal coach. And Heidi not a 'singer' by her own account did fabulously well. Martin directed video, shot portraits of Heidi and kept the mood positive in a long session for his old pals at SELECT, with Rene Jung on camera...fun it was and Heidi sounding great!

WhiteWall-Lumas at Javits Center

...for the PDN photo show at New York's Javits Convention Center. WhiteWall a printing, framing and artwork firm from Berlin/Cologne, born out of better known art company Lumas. With only two weeks planning time we pulled off the cross-Atlantic implementation of the idea. Large visuals worked well and almost like magnets drawing in visitors... giving proof to the popularity of the booth and confirming the important presence at this show.

Two times 16:9 -> an unusual format!

For Germany’s banknote/creditcard maker Giesecke & Devrient and their agency Cadrage, we produced ULTRA-wide scenes for their new image film. A two times 16:9 HD environment side by side made all actors appear small in a very wide frame. Now pair that with New York City's tall landscape... that's a challenge.

James Brown in Laguna Niguel

Some shows are 'forever' and so is the James Brown concert for the Zino Davidoff fragrance launch in Laguna Niguel/California. None other than soul legend James Brown came onstage for a surprise show for the sales team. The screen swung up and out 'flew' Mr. Brown grooving and screaming, supported by 'The Bittersweets' singing ladies, ballet and band! With 3 (!!) encores...he rocked the place into soul oblivion. What followed was a US tour of JB shows for early fragrance customers. Martin produced and directed for shortcut/Germany & Select at the time.

From the Vault: The Maybach World Premiere

Some shows belong in 'The Book of Great Theater' and the Maybach launch is guaranteed a place in it. Six months after 9/11 our friends from OSK and Daimler decided to commit to New York City. The plan was: Invite the world's 'car media' to the Big Apple for the launch of the new Maybach sedan...
and there present the car off the top deck of the Queen Elizabeth ocean ship with a rig suspended off a SkyCrane helicopter... in front of the journalists over the Hudson river! Check out the 'making off video':
Instrumental from the start our team was instrumental obtaining permits, managing logistics, crew and many other last-minute elements... this indeed one for the ages!

Oscar Winner Christoph Waltz...and RIP Director Peter Patzak

From the vault a TV Movie we filmed with Oscar Winner Christoph Waltz for Ziegler Film's 'Deadly Inheritance' aka 'Moederisches Erbe'. Directed by Vienna's Peter Patzak, who sadly passed away recently. Here's a clip:

"Kinderblock 66", A Story about Survival

Our film Kinderblock 66 about the boys that survived Buchenwald, is making great progress. Earlier in April during Liberation days the documentary was shown to a select audience of survivors in Buchenwald, Germany ...click below to play clip on German TV:
Also recently invited to the Jerusalem Film Festival with all the producers and survivors attending. In the US, Kinderblock 66 has been shown on smaller festivals and just won 'Best Documentary' in Key West and in Philadelphia for Best Director 'Documentary'. A distribution agreement is secured, bringing the film officially to America. For current updates go to Kinderblock 66

Thank you for your interest!

Lanxess Investor and Press Days

For PR firm Offspin we produced media & investor days for Lanxess Chemical Coproration. Location management, calling the show, AV equipment & Live stream, scenery/crew/photography, client transfers, where just some of our mandates. Watch a slide show of the events at the Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan:

'SIEMENS Exider': A Train as a Worldwide Exhibit

The first trade show built into a train to travel the Northern Hemisphere on the rails. An event for customers of Siemens Energy & Automation the train arrived from China to North America...by airplane!! YES, after showing in China it was FLOWN to Milwaukee's international airport for the first US display in Chicago, to then go across the US, Mexico and Canada!!
14 containers on flat-bed rail cars formed the exhibtion, with displays and simulations, a lounge and 3D-movie theater. A Mega project for us of two years we supported our German friends of agency OSK who conceived and built the train. We managed the entire move, all venues, permits and people... not your everyday project, but one for the ages!

Shooting the VOID for Mercedes & Opel Cars

Scouting panorama, Ellis Island
NYC skyline from Ellis Island

...means producing images without a product 'on location'!
We did this for Opel Europe and Mercedes Benz. Like in Hollywood's special effects  the final image is CGI 'rendered' in a computer, here shooter & client
Computer generated interior
Tom Grammerstorf.
It all makes you believe the car is actually on a location.

Similarly we took to the streets of Manhattan, to film the 'VOID' behind a camera truck for a Mercedes-Benz E 550 film. The actual car was shot in a studio in Europe with the footage 'composited' later in a computer. Protecting the 'empty' space behind the camera crane traveling down Park Avenue at night was the tricky part. Watch the clip of the final film and see the car as if it was driving across the streets of New York City.

'The Debut Fragrance' Launch of Faith Hill

For Faith Hill's signature scent ‘The Debut Fragrance’ by Coty, we transformed private townhouse into 'Faith's New York Mansion'. Paris agency 'shortcut' invited beauty press on behalf of Coty. In an intimate setting international editors had a chance to meet the singer, enjoy the new scent and learn of Faith's new passion: 'Being a Parfumeur', take a look:

80 years of 'Graf Zeppelin' coming to New York

For the 80th anniversary of the Airship 'Graf Zeppelin's' arrival in New York the German American Chamber of Commerce  celebrated the occasion with a grand evening gala at a Broadway theater. We conceptualized the show with a live talk, historical footage and musical entertainment bringing the grandson of the Graf Zeppelin's chief pilot on stage for a story talk.
The musical entertainment of German chanteuse Karen Kohler and big band Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks inspired the elated audience to 'dance the night away'. A great deal of fun was enjoyed by all!

‘Tim McGraw’ Fragrance by Coty

For Tim McGraw's 1st signature fragrance Tim himself came and performed live at the Highline Ballroom. With a great voice and sharp looks he charmed the international beauty and lifestyle press. Our Parisian friends of shortcut hired us to be the production force on the ground. We directed the show, staffed all crew and creatively supported the affair...look:

Sheryl Crow for Mercedes-Benz

For the 'House of BlueTec', a Mercedes-Benz press event at the New York Motor Show, Sheryl Crow performed as the headliner in a West Side photo studio turned rhythm & blues lounge.

Overnight we turned the studio into an exclusive lunch location for the AMG 'Black Series' SL sports car press preview. In only short eight hours we handled the transition perfectly for OSK Communications being the lead agency with Martin producing and directing the show.
